Janice Bradner! Janice Bradner, pianist, studied with George Kiorpes at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where she earned her B.M. degree, and Eugene Barban at Winthrop, where she earned her M.M. Bradner is in demand as both a solo performer and a collaborative artist. In 2007 she performed in Spain with the Carolinas Wind Orchestra for the Malgrat de Mar International Music Festival, and has performed in New York City with the New York City Chamber Orchestra, accompanied song recitals at the Spencer Art Gallery in Kansas and at the Cleveland Museum of Art for the touring Belgian art exhibit of "Les XX." She also has performed on American Public Radio. Bradner participated in the Society of Composers Regional Conference, performing a composition by Craig Bove, chair of the Music Department at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), and premiered, in 2006, a two-piano composition by Ronald Parks, winner of the 2004 Aaron Copland Award and Residency. Bradner regularly accompanies established singers who have made their careers with the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, and the San Francisco Opera. She has accompanied students in master classes for such notable musicians as Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg, Victoria Livengood, and Libby Larsen, and she frequently accompanies aspiring performers in competitions such as the Josef Hoffman International Piano Competition, the Metropolitan Opera auditions, and the Leontyne Price Vocal Arts Competition. She has made frequent appearances for charitable organizations and various Friends of Music organizations who are instrumental in raising awareness of arts in the area. She is retired from the music faculty at Winthrop University, and now works as a freelance coach/accompanist in the Charlotte, N.C. area. Check out her performance here!
